We are excited to share the first #LifeApex publication. @ThomaidisLab analysed 56 #PFAS in top predators and their prey from 🇬🇧🇳🇱🇸🇪🇩🇪. Concentrations were one to four magnitudes higher in top predators compared to their prey!

Seal samples from the German coast have arrived at @ThomaidisLab for lyophilisation and analysis using state of the art analytical methods. The samples range back 18 years and will be used for time trend analysis of #emergingcontaminants.

A questionnaire revealed great interest from institutions involved in chemicals regulation for the use of chemical #monitoringdata from #apexpredators. #LifeAPEX will provide further knowledge on how such data can improve the prioritisation and assessment of #chemicals.
