Federalism at Risk — Why Devolution Strengthens, Not Weakens, Pakistan 🇵🇰 Pakistan’s unity was built on autonomy — a federation formed by the provinces, for the people. In Part I of my two-part article, I trace the historical and constitutional evolution of how Pakistan allocates resources between the federation and the provinces — and why any attempt to roll back the 7th NFC Award or the 18th Amendment would be a grave mistake. These were not political concessions but constitutional corrections — restoring balance after decades of over-centralisation that once fractured our union. The challenge today is not to undo devolution, but to make it work — with empowered provinces, accountable governance, and performance-linked outcomes that strengthen the federation from within. Part II will examine the myths, the math, and the reforms needed for a smarter, performance-based NFC framework. Read Part I: “Federalism at Risk” 👇 https://t.co/MHOxgCdLrq
