This statue is the head of Bacchus, the Roman God of wine. It was a decorative keystone in a window arch of the Ontario Bank building on the corner of Wellington St E for almost 100 years between 1868 and 1964. Now its home is in the garden here at Campbell House! #lostfoundTO

If you were to assume that of these two stone panels the one from The Granite Club would be made of granite, you would be wrong! It is actually made of limestone, whereas the shorter of the two from the old @TorontoStar building on King St W is granite. #lostfoundTO

This stone (turned bench) is from the Imperial Oil building, which was demolished after the company moved to St Clair Ave. At the time, the @ImperialOil building contained a gas station with a car turntable, a women’s lounge and a gym.#lostfoundTO

Did you know that the Bank of Montreal is Canada’s oldest bank? These letters are from the @BMO that stood at 50 King St until 1975. When you visit the Campbell House garden, compare these stones with their contemporary counterpart visible in the Toronto skyline. #lostfoundTO

This limestone pediment once stood above the front door of @OxUniPress’s Canadian Office. Even though it was on University Ave, it was called the Amen House. Named after the headquarters in London (England) on “Amen Corner” where friars used to walk by singing hymns. #lostfoundTO

This stone was once a part of the Imperial Oil building, which stood on the corner of King St and Church St before being demolished in 1969. Originally this was the site of the Town of York's courthouse, where Sir William Campbell was the presiding judge. #lostfoundTO

This Corinthian Capital is from the old @TorontoStar building on King St W, which was in operation from 1929 to 1972. What is a Corinthian Capital? It is an ornate carving that would stand on the top of a column. It is a distinct style because of the acanthus leaves. #lostfoundTO
