Given an image with a depth map, here's how to render it with Lume 3D HTML elements and a sprinkle of JS for interactivity on any website.
The entire code is on the left, the result is on the right. #LumeHTML #Threejs

@asleMammadam @levelsio @arzafran Thanks for the mention! I'm making tools that make that sort of stuff easier. Lume 3D HTML elements make it easier to do, and also compatible with React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, and any web framework. #LumeHTML https://t.co/lDEmF4xbA8
Here's a `<lume-flexbox>` element nested inside a `<lume-flexbox>` element to start making dynamic layouts with 3D WebGL content written in HTML (rendered with @threejs) in any web framework!
Note how the #LumeHTML is inspectable in devtools, highlighting 3D content on screen!
The HTML for scrollable 3D WebGL content looks like this currently.
These elements work in React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, Angular, Lit, Preact, Backbone, jQuery, and literally every framework in existence!

@jmtrivedi Next I followed up with a version for web made with 3D #LumeHTML:

I took some inspiration from @jmtrivedi and made a similar carousel with Lume HTML. See the subtle reflection of light in the first video? The second video shows #LumeHTML elements in the browser element inspector.

I'm making a portal feature for #LumeHTML to make it easy to create fun world-in-world effects. The usage will be something like this:
<lume-scene class="scene1">
<lume-box ...></lume-box>
...
</lume-scene>
<lume-scene>
<lume-portal scene=".scene1" size="100 100">
</lume-portal>
</lume-scene>

Made this subtle 3D photo carousel!
Check out how the photos actually warp and βturn awayβ from the viewer as they scroll away.
Some fun details on how itβs built below:
HTMX sees Custom Elements wrong! The specs are improving, and libraries like @buildWithLit , @stenciljs , Lightning, Fast, #LumeHTML, and even @vuejsβ/etc with element wrappers, make them easy to write, and frameworks like Astro make it easy to plug them into SSR and SSG.
static v dynamic typing
imperative v declarative
go v rust
java v kotlin
ocaml v haskell
django v flask
php v non-lambo havers
jvm v .net
lisp v scheme
bootstrap v tailwind
neovim v vscode
web components v web components (damn web components, they RUINED web components)

@Andersonmancini That's so cool! Would love to get a sample of this working with #LumeHTML, HTML elements for 3D, built on #threejs for rendering, and #solidjs for reactivity and templating. See sample HTML here:

Trick or treat? How about both!
I just updated Lume's docs site with improved Introduction, Install, and Making a Scene guides, just in time to include a halloween easter egg!

HTML on the left, output on the right.

#Lume's <lume-instanced-mesh> #HTML element gives high-count rendering. The video shows that updating all instances is slower than updating a few. This is faster than having individual non-instanced meshes.

I've been wanting to do this for a while: https://t.co/ZZSpfqlCNS has a new home! Prepare for some 3D mapping! Also in the works are HTML elements to make it easier!

This vastly complicates code. Nightmare.
But I still love custom elements.
@buildWithLit, @stenciljs, lightning elements, #lumehtml, etc, they all have these feelings.
How to solve it? Forget lighthouse scores! Include all #JavaScript in <head>!
