After all, the tests were rigged in 1994 so SmithKline could scam their way through #LYMErix trials!
@danaparish And the “Steere’s Knee” cases are the ones who are more likely to test positive—not the really sick people. Steere was paid by GSK as primary investigator for #LYMErix. He helped rig the tests to only DX the arthritis cases so the vax would look effective & get approved.
@danaparish Pfizer’s claim is that they’ve removed the epitope from the OspA molecule which caused the autoimmune reactions to #LYMErix, so their vax is fine. The problem is not that epitope, though. It’s that OspA is a lipoprotein with 3 lipids and that structure causes immune suppression.

Those are only about 15% of cases, based on prevalence of the associated HLAs (a genetic factor). This strategy of denying the sickest patients was implemented for #LYMErix, the original #LymeDisease vaccine’s trials in the 1990s.
