This FINRA FAQ statement has factual inaccuracies and is obviously disingenuous. FINRA's failed to address the shorting and naked shorting that occurred in the predecessor company, Torchlight Energy Resources, Inc., which was the clear motive of facilitating MMTLP trading in the first place. Subsequently, the same nefarious naked short selling activities took place in MMTLP. The only logical conclusion is that FINRA's FAQ statement was released specifically as a means to “pass-the-blame”. Why won’t FINRA disclose the details of their investigation into this matter? More importantly, what is FINRA going to do about the 65,000 investors who have lost their opportunity to trade the last two days? What is FINRA doing to ensure all short positions are properly covered? FINRA either has the facts and refuses to expose them or FINRA has not requested the data and are therefore negligent in their responsibilities of oversight and investor protection.
