Fog and low cloud a little more extensive this AM #YVR, but clearer Abby and E due outflow and some gaps over the Strait due outflow from Howe Sound. Where there's less stratus/fog, there's frost. Sky a little slower to clear off today.

A few showers linger Valley but gradually clearing skies + a NW breeze on the beach today as a ridge builds on to the coast #YVR. Some high cloud Sat AM but it will be dry; a bit warmer. More high cloud Sun, but a few deg warmer again. An excellent weekend to get outdoors. 🏌️🚴🚶

Local sounding indicates VI terrain is effectively blocking formation of deeper cloud this AM over the LM #YVR (not Alpine) due W flow/lee subsidence. As the day warms a few deg, look for larger buildups with showers/small hail developing, slight chc ⚡️. Showers end Wed late PM
Gusty NW winds kick in on the beaches this AM for the start of a brief dry interval with some sun. Enjoy #YVR because showers and increasing wind back on tomorrow, peaking late PM with a strong cold front. Sat starts off dry with an increasing chance of rain later in the PM

Cloudy/mild this AM #YVR in a stable NW flow ahead of a transient ridge crossing the coast. Light rain develops this PM as a plume of moisture over the BC central coast sags S. Precip becomes intermittent overnight but resumes in earnest Fri PM with the approach of a cold front.

Area in a brisk, slightly unstable NW flow aloft #YVR. Amplifying ridge just E of the dateline drops a digging trough overhead Wed AM. Mix sun cloud today; shower chances overnight ending Wed AM then sunny breaks all day. A gusty NW wind developing overnight and continuing Wed.
Weak upper trough ahead of the main event generating a few showers this AM #YVR. Precip/SE wind intensifies this PM as a strong trough approaches from the W. Cold front passage Sat AM; in its wake airmass is unstable with a risk of heavy showers, gusty SW winds and the odd bolt.

48 h ago I turned on this box fan with a Jerry rigged HEPA filter. Windows closed the whole time. When it started up, the filter was the same colour as the frame. #YVR

Convoluted upper pattern over the W, with very mild air lofted into the Srn NWT and Nunavut around a sprawling multi-centred trough from E central MB to SW of Haida Gwaii. Long story short: Cloudy + a few showers today; slight chc ⚡️late PM. Showers tapering off Fri PM. #YVR
Some high and mid cloud today as a vortmax cuts down the E flank of the offshore ridge but no chance of precip #YVR. Some showers showing up in the short range ensembles for Fri eve/Sat AM with a sharper trough on the same trajectory but so far chances look low.

The air aloft moving over SW BC is about as cold as it gets this time of year (-37C @ 500 mb). Showers, initially flurries this AM, developing. More over the valley than the city #YVR. Showers occasionally heavy this PM. Clearing near mid-day Fri as ridging builds in from the W.
