.@CHRISBARYOMUNS1: Uganda has defeated this outbreak because of the strong investments the Government has made over the years in building resilient public health systems #UGEbolaFree

No one in the WORLD can tell Uganda how to deal with #Ebola.
No one has the range.
No individual.
No organisation.
We have seriously focused leadership- President Museveni has been fighting outbreaks since AIDS in the 90s.
We have experienced health workers- we helped W Africa deal with the Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia outbreak. And now we are helping fix Congo.
We are a responsive citizenry- as soon as we know what we need to do, life goes on.
Uganda's High Commissioner to the UK and Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Nimisha Madhvani, welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the strong health partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom in improving health outcomes for communities.

Dr. @CHRISBARYOMUNS1, Minister of Health: The @MinofHealthUG is pleased to announce that Uganda has officially declared the end of the 2026 Ebola Disease outbreak | #UGEbolaFree
Authorities in Uganda have declared the country free of Ebola, as infections from the viral haemorrhagic disease continue to surge in neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Lots of promises were made - some by well meaning allies- others by opportunists..
That Uganda would be supported financially to deal with Ebola.
Anyway, let me be diplomatic- Uganda used its own money to respond.
The government committed $5m and…
Voila.
We shouldn’t feel entitled to other people’s money…
But it’s like showing up at a wedding meeting and making a pledge that you never fulfil.
