Every window in #mynewflat is open cos after last night's Jalfrezi, it smells like a curry house.

So, I've been here a week, in #mynewflat. I really, really love it. It's tiny. Smaller than my cottage. When I first viewed it I worried I was making a mistake but let me tell you, square footage doesn't matter a shit if you can't climb your stairs because they're too steep, if you can't get in and out of the bath, if you can't turn on the kitchen taps because they're not lever taps and your hands have no grip function, if you can't access the garden because the steps are slippery, uneven and don't have a handrail. I've swapped square footage for safety, warmth and a call alarm if I need help and if that means sleeping in a single bed and not a double, then I don't care. Yes, I'm one of the youngest here, but living here hasn't made me feel old, in fact, it's given me a new lease of life knowing there will be help if I need it. A bigger kitchen won't help me if I'm taken ill, a small kitchen with a care alarm might one day save my life. I've been struggling for so long and now,I can actually start to live. ❤️

Forgive the dirty windows, but isn't this a lovely sunset from #mynewflat!

Had the Warden of Alcatraz (#mynewflat complex) on the phone today. Soon put him straight. I think we're gonna get along well. He knows his place and I'll put him in it. 😂😂😂
