#Mogadishu's Mayor #Madaale facing criticism for his overseas trip as the city grapples with flooding. Somali citizens demand accountability. #Accountability #Somalia
Spotlight on #Mogadishu's Mayor #Madaale: While his family finds refuge in #Canada, he grapples with mounting criticism back home. This video captures his response to Somali citizens voicing concerns over his handling of the city's crises, especially amid severe flooding affecting half the population. In local parlance, this scenario is aptly dubbed "Ayax Gajaaysan" - a telling reflection of his leadership. #Somalia

#Madaale unilaterally slashed civil servants' salaries this month without prior notice. This move not only breaches their constitutional rights but was made without consulting other governmental agencies or the parliament, which remains silent on this issue. #Mogadishu #Somalia

While it's commendable that the Mayor of #Mogadishu, His Excellency #Madaale, wants to encourage citizens to contribute to building their country, relying solely on donations may not be the most effective long-term solution. Instead, a more sustainable approach could be to develop an efficient taxation plan that generates enough funding to build and maintain necessary infrastructure and public services. This could potentially create more job opportunities and improve the overall quality of life for citizens. 1/2

As articulated in Article 26 of #Somalia’s #Constitution, private #property is actually protected. I am appalled by the #thuggish actions of @MunicipalityMog against Posh Treats, as well as the alleged theft of approximately $140k by #Madaale’s armed thugs
