Bitcoin needs its Edward Bernays moment and we're too autistic to admit it. Bernays got women to smoke by literally calling cigarettes "Torches of Freedom" He didn't explain tobacco cultivation or nicotine delivery mechanisms. He didn't publish whitepapers about filter technology. He hired debutantes to smoke during the Easter Parade and called it women's liberation. Look around. We're trying to achieve bigger behavioral change than "add smoking to your life." We're asking people to completely reimagine money, savings, sovereignty, time preference. And our strategy is... explaining hash functions? Fighting over Core vs Knots? Bernays would watch us drawing supply curves on whiteboards and laugh himself to death. You don't change culture with education. You change culture by making the old way look stupid and the new way look inevitable. The cigarette companies turned breathing poison into sophistication. They convinced half of America to literally kill themselves and pay for the privilege. Meanwhile we can't convince people to save in the hardest money ever created because we're explaining cypherpunk ideals to people who can't balance a checkbook. Bitcoin doesn't need more educators. It needs cultural manipulators. But we're too busy fighting about opcodes to realize we're losing the only war that matters: the culture war.
