To #EndGBV, we need to listen to women and their diverse range of experiences. We need better co-operation with organizations representing women and girls, to better inform policies and legislation, including access to victim support systems and to justice. #MakeWayForHer
Decreasing #GBV requires a community-based, multi-pronged approach, & sustained engagement with multiple stakeholders. #MakeWayForHer approach addresses underlying risk factors for violence, including social norms regarding gender roles and the acceptability of violence.
Most of this violence is intimate partner violence. Worldwide, almost one third (27%) of women aged 15-49 years who have been in a relationship report that they have been subjected to some form of physical and/or sexual violence by their intimate partner
