Lack of action by @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @PriyankKharge on roads, drainage, traffic on ORR is leading to huge anger and is forcing many MNC’s to seriously consider expanding outside City.promises made by CM, DCM repeatedly not upheld,trust down. This is very serious.
CM/DCM should take urgent action to save city and jobs. Never seen this kind of anger and pain in last 20 years. Very sad at the misgovernance of city,false promises, lack of action. "I think this company needs to celebrate more" was the candid feedback given by an ex-team member during his exit interview with MYBYK.
I started MYBYK with a very ambitious goal of #MakingCitiesLiveableAgain and hence I never felt like celebrating all these years because the fact is, we didn't even scratch the surface in terms of realising our goal despite becoming India's largest bicycle sharing service with a fleet of 10K+ bikes across 6 cities and many more campuses.
And when, @sharktankindia happened, I was hoping that the visibility will help generate enough interest among the country to back a startup like ours thats toiling hard towards creating a huge social impact and has proven operational success where several VC backed players failed and pivoted.
Sadly, like the sharks, we didn't get any meaningful interest from investors. After spending a decade and having proven enough traction on the ground, to still get questioned "India mein cycle kaun chalayega?" finally killed my soul.
We can now clearly see that its going to take time for the decision makers to be serious about #climatechange and focus on creating infrastructure to support #activemobility while #climatefunds are going to continue to give this excuse of lack of infrastructure support to not back such initiatives.
And so time has arrived for us to #pivot. It has not been easy and rather a very bitter pill for us to swallow but we believe this decision is in the best interest of all the stakeholders.
We will focus on other high growth opportunities in the space of #intracampusmobility and #lastmiledelivery while we wait for the day to come when the world is serious about solving #urbanmobility and there are meaningful opportunities to create large scale #impact.
And with this clarity, we finally decided to celebrate. Not the results, but the hard-work that my team has put in and the patience and perseverance it has shown over the years to realise our shared vision. As one of our investors quipped "Pathhar mein se paani nikaalne ka kaam kiya hai".
We are all geared up for the next decade with MYBYK 2.0 - its going to be electrifying!
