Last, but not the least.
Should the government be pushing for the bill especially since #NorthEast India is already dealing with the sensitive issue of #NRC?
#BillKiBaat #PolicyInShorts #MashPolicy #CitizenshipAmendmentBill
Unfortunate, but true. Considering the huge volume of refugees that do not have homes and seek asylum outside.

@MASH_Project @KirenRijiju @_maadhyam_ @shantanunandan2 @firstpost @guwahatiplus @NENewsroom @mygovassam How many religions can bills accommodate? How can each religion accommodate their beliefs in a bill? While the core remains the same, a lot of the animosity often arises from the differences. Human rights should essentially be free from religious beliefs. #BillKiBaat #MashPolicy
@MASH_Project @KirenRijiju @guwahatiplus @shantanunandan2 @_maadhyam_ @YouthKiAwaaz @firstpost @scroll_in @Sentinel_Assam Definitely! It is at the core of basic humanity. As a democratic nation, this lies at the basis of our values. While we attempt this inwardly, we need to also actively work on the outward expression of it. #MASHPolicy #minoritycommunities
Starting off with a bang.
The first and foremost question, is the bill a temporary fix, considering the dire need of a proper policy in place for #Refugees?

It is crucial to understand the very meaning of #socioeconomic #backwardness and then set ground rules for something like #reservation.

@MASH_Project @_maadhyam_ @ccsindia @wiredimpact @scroll_in @ArreTweets @PRSLegislative @beyondiversity @YouthKiAwaaz @Haiyya_Act It is really how you classify economic backwardness. There are people who only appear to be economically backward. It is evidently not enough. More has to be done to bring out what socioeconomic background a person comes from. #10percentreservationbill #BillKiBaat
Since this point has been actively involved in the discussion so far, it's time we ask whether economic backwardness should be the criteria for #reservation. Is it enough?
#10percentreservationbill #BillKiBaat #PolicyInShorts #MashPolicy #reservation #education
Economic background is not essentially the only prerequisite for #reservation of any kind.
#BillKiBaat #PolicyInShorts #MashPolicy #10percentreservationbill
True, indeed. From execution point of view, #Reservation often leads to unhealthy practices as opportunities open for a limited number of the population.

@MASH_Project @_maadhyam_ @wiredimpact @scroll_in @PRSLegislative @ccsindia @YouthKiAwaaz @ThePrintIndia @CPR_India @TheWire We really need to contemplate who would benefit from this #10PercentReservation. There is a chance of exploitation of the people who deserve the rights and from those who don't fall into this category. While the aim would be beneficial, we have often seen things go awry.
@MASH_Project @_maadhyam_ @scroll_in @ccsindia @AccInitiative @pbmehta @wiredimpact The key here is equal access to education and personal skilling rather than just opportunities. Having the opportunities available doesn't mean people are qualified. We have plenty of qualified without jobs. This is really a double-edged sword. #BillKiBaat #MashPolicy
Let's get straight to it. Is #reservation the right approach or solution to provide better work/educational opportunities for the EBS of the #generalcategory?
