Had a great time at the #IFALC today on the University of Minnesota-Rochester campus. We had a wonderful session in the afternoon about the power of #MicroSims in education and we got to show the attendees how to turn their hand-drawn diagrams into prompts. ♥️

There are all of these words... I just, don't have them. @Stormcrow_JE This is what I'm on about. If you're not following @va_lockhart it's definitely worth clicking that button. #microsims

@biodids @Sonali_M_19 @joanna_c_chiu @ambikamath @pastramimachine @Lagomarsino_L It has been neat to see all students, as part of their curriculum, doing job simulation exercises to try out careers of interest, and get feedback and discuss the experience with professionals in the roles. A list of our #MicroSims: https://t.co/auyxBiQGMU

To embed #careerdev into curriculum, we innovated time-efficient approaches tailored to each stage in #PhD training. Career Pathways Communities, developed over time by MThompson, @SoniaHall, HYonutas, @spencerfenn, @caschweppe, structure learning w/exercises like #MicroSims 6/n

Love seeing all 3 of these models for job simulations #AAMCGREAT--on the experiential learning continuum, from 3-15 hours. @GSBS_UMassMed @GSBScareer we have developed #MicroSims for curriculum that take 1-3 hours, which introduce the job simulation concept. #NIHBEST

We'll be creating a Career Pathways Communities implementation guide and pulling together our #MicroSims for sharing with others. We are also seeking colleagues interested in testing/adapting either approach at their own institutions. Reach out to us if interested! #2018GCC

Enjoyed discussions at our #2018GCC poster today! @spencerfenn describing our Career Pathways Communities (career-themed student/professional learning communities) and #MicroSims (1-hr job simulations). Part of our #NIHBEST curriculum @GSBScareer
