Mims Elementary supporting one of our own! Coming together to bring awareness to T18 Edwards’ Syndrome. The sea of purple on campus today was incredible to see, but more importantly the love & support for Ms. D and Esme that was felt. #teamEsme #t18 #teamsupport #mimsstrong
As parents, we have learned too. Our new principal will have more support than ever.
As the song says, it’s a small world after all, so fight to make your corner better.

Remember to support your educators, don’t be afraid to make a stink, raise your voices, because good educators are worth it.
The parents did a cat dance today, just for Mr. Chang! #HISD #MIMSstrong 6/
It is also a reminder to all parents to keep hour eyes open. Even if everything is fine with your kid, your principal & teachers may be facing challenges from forces beyond their control. #HISD #MIMSstrong 5/
We are lucky: massive public push by parents forced @HoustonISD to hire a mandarin speaking principal next year. We can’t replace Chang, but we’re optimistic that he will continue a bilingual curriculum that challenge our kids, not coddle them. #HISD #MIMSstrong 4/
Of course Chang found another job, and that school is lucky to have him next year. With a @TEAinfo rating of 97, @childrenatrisk top 10 honor, @uiltexas school of the year, who wouldn’t want THAT principal? Oh @HoustonISD. #HISD #MIMSstrong
There were so many tears from parents and teachers. Truly a shame that @HoustonISD administrators, including our regional superintendent McSwain and his SSO, forced one of the best educators in the state to leave. #HISD #MIMSstrong 2/
We said goodbye to Principal Chaolin Chang of @HISD_MIMS this morning. He led a couple of hundred kids singing “Its a Small World” in Chinese. Just something that happens at our school every day.
So a thread, in his honor. #HISD #MIMSstrong 1/

I am inspired by the parents of the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School: they are dedicated to #HISD, a strong public education, they support their teachers & principal. #mimsstrong #txlege
Today, I sent a letter to @HISDSupe, @HoustonISD Board & administrators expressing my strong concern over the forced resignation of Principal Chang at the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School, one of #HISD’s best schools, with a 97 @TEAinfo rating. #mimsstrong #txlege
Hundreds of parents show up to demand transparency & due process at high performing @HoustonISD’s Mandarin Magnet School. #HISD #TXed #publiced #MIMSstrong
