Malinvestments can be cleared under a low #MoneyStream % environment.
Low MoneyStream % per annum makes resources move away from long & unsustainable duration investments to short & sustainable duration production processes.
Recessions are not necessary for clearing up malinvestments, but restrictive (not recessionary) monetary-policy is certainly a must to clear malinvestments though.
It always seems weird to me that proselytizers of capitalism think recessions are the means by which the economy is cleansed of “mal-investment.”
That’s supposed to be what competition is for!
We are finally at ≈ 5% #MoneyStream/ NGDP, so we won't go into recession if the Fed keeps MP stable
But that means that rares might have to rise more bc MoneyDemand↘️

A stable MoneySupply can be expansionary if MoneyDemand is falling.
The good news is if we don’t get a recession this quarter or next two quarters, we prob won’t get a recession next year either because “recession is a 2023 story and the lags just aren’t that long”. If we just hold steady for a couple quarters, we could be fine for years. 😊
The #MoneyStream rate is falling, so pushing down inflation, but the main component falling is investment, which means we are still spending too much, too fast, on consumption, making inflation take longer to drop to 2% again.
Is just a matter of time now.
And we are still posting positive numbers in November
