The highlight of my week was a private tour of @TheNeustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass in Queens! My grandmother was a stained glass artist, so I grew up revering Tiffany lamps and windows. I was completely awestruck to visit this archive of over 250,000 pieces. #MuSeeing2020
This week, I visited the @UBSglobalart collection’s @ShiniqueSmith exhibition with the artist herself (L) and my friend @jetsetterprob (R). I loved learning about the personal histories built into Shinique’s work and her sustainability practices. #MuSeeing2020
My major takeaway from the museum is increased empathy for the immigrant experience & appreciation for those who struggled to make New York the amazing city that it is today. #MuSeeing2020
For this week’s museum visit, @tpatt220 and I went to the @tenementmuseum! No photos are allowed in the space, but we learned so much about the immigrant families that lived in this building on Orchard Street. #MuSeeing2020
My favorite part: learning about the estate’s designer Paul Chalfin (1874-1959), an openly gay man who visualized such stunning interiors; and its landscape architect Diego Suarez (1888-1974), who was the first of Hispanic descent to practice in the US. #MuSeeing2020
