I understand a lot of folks, across the #KarenReadTrial world, are trying to understand why a man accused of pulling a knife at #NECANNBoston in 2023 asked a woman named Lisa Perrault to smear an SA victim in the context of the #TurtleBoyTrial.
Here is some context;
In 2019, the city of Cambridge went through a process to draft rules to license adult-use stores. This process involved the proposal of a priority period, during which only companies owned and controlled by social equity or economic empowerment applicants could open said adult-use stores (a historic first in the Commonwealth, that went on to be the basis for changes to state law, in 2022, related to local licensing).
However, while the city of Cambridge was going through the process of proposing said equity priority period, existing medical dispensaries in the city (including one called Revolutionary Clinics) became very upset (because those companies would not be able to "co-locate" and become adult-use stores during the priority period).
In an expression of that upset, the medical dispensaries in Cambridge attempted to use pay-to-play tactics in order to buy their way into said priority period (by offering cash to a small group of companies in exchange for testimony against the priority period).
Later, when that lobbying efforts failed, Rev Clinics sued Cambridge (to avoid precedent being set under MGL 94G 3 (1) (a) (i) that said priority periods could prevent existing medical operators from co-locating to adult-use establishments) and claimed such priority periods were "reverse racism" (despite the fact that social equity status is based on the impact of the war on drugs and not based on race, and economic empowerment status has a six-part qualifying standard --of which only three subsections must be met-- and only one of those six involves race). With that background; one of the people who supported Rev Clinics during that attempt to undermine the priority period in Cambridge was Maur Stringer (AKA MassMotherMari), and one of the people who supported the priority period was a local advocate named Erving "Harry" Jean-Jacques.
This reporter, at the time, also covered and supported said priority period (see video below, when towel had a beard, for more context).
While Stringer and Rev Clinics did go on to work together on a drink brand (called "Shakti" or something like that), on the whole, Stringer held a grudge against anyone who supported the priority period (as did another man named Sieh Samura AKA Chief AKA MassBayCanna).
Over the years, nothing much of substance happened with Stringer (as the priority period was extended multiple times in Cambridge, and then used as a model, along with the social equity loan fund, when lawmakers and advocates worked on Chapter 180 of the acts of 2022).
However, in the spring of 2023, at the NECANN Boston Convention, this reporter towel was outside on a break (while volunteering for a non-profit called MassCann), listening to Fetty Wap, when towel saw Mr. Stringer, while walking into the venue, begin yelling at a group of men (including Harry, one of the advocates I mentioned earlier).
At that point, Stringer and some of the group went into the building (and, although I was not inside, this video captures what happens next -https://t.co/8rRTy4L1vH).
Minutes later, while towel was still outside, the victims came running out of the front door, with Mr. Stringer close behind them in chase.
As Stringer began screaming at the victims, towel turned his back to Stringer and ensured that a reasonable distance (of at least 10 feet) remained between the groups. During this time, with towel's back turned, Towel heard words from behind him to the effect that Stringer would "come back and shoot" the victims "in the head."
This was obviously concerning to towel and, in turn, when police arrived on scene towel provided all of the information above, to the best of his ability.
In short, according to subsequent felony proceedings, Mr. Stringer attacked at least two victims with a knife, admitted to doing so on social media, and then started a campaign to torment the victims and witnesses in the case (including Harry and his brother David, who was not involved in the 2019 Cambridge priority period advocacy and who was mostly unknown at the time, even to members of the close knit community that follows such policy developments).
That campaign, at the onset, involved retaliation against towel (by members of the MassCann board), and, eventually, escalated to the point where Stringer was charged with felony witness intimidation for targeting one of the brothers in the case (Harry) with smears related to serious criminal charges brought against David, years after the knife incident occurred.

And, as if that complex tale were not enough, it now appears that Mr. Stringer recruited a network of fake proxy accounts (including one alleged to be run by a disgruntled community members from adult and medical use policy circles names Lisa Perrault) in order to target those witnesses and, for some reason, target a victim in another, unrelated case, who has alleged serious misconduct by blogger (and man facing 19 indictments related to his own witness intimidation in the #KarenReadTrial) Aiden #TurtleBoyKearney).
This included that proxy, Ms. Perrault, allegedly using a troll account to release protected court documents about an SA victim's children (which may have been a direct violation of a court order), in order to "stan" (a term for compulsive behavior in support of an idol) Mr. Kearney.
If this will lead to an expansion of the criminal probe targeting Mr. Stringer, and further civil and criminal proceedings involving the targeting of those witnesses and victims, is unclear.

The NECANN Boston Knife-Incident defendant, Maurice Stringer (AKA MassMotherMari) was in court on his felony assault and battery charges today (requesting a motion hearing date in August for the last discovery before a jury trial).
I asked Stringer if he is working with a woman named Lisa Silvercrow Perrault, using a fake X account called “Hailey W.”, to torment witnesses in the case (and release protected court documents to torment a victim of SA in another case).
Stringer, when asked about new felony criminal charges announced in June of 2024 related to witness intimidation in the context of Stringer’s ongoing felony A and B case, Stringer had a complete meltdown and started streaming about people being out to get him.
Stringer faces a number of years in prison if convicted on the felony a and B (with a knife) and the felony witness intimidation charges (related to a witness, Harry Jean-Jacques, who Stringer is alleged to have attacked with a knife).
