I enjoyed presenting at #NETConf19
BUT, disappointed to report that it:
- was ludicrously expensive for delegates AND presenters (ยฃ580)
- had the unnecessary tote bags/pens/bottles
- had the option of upgrading to a string orchestra-accompanied meal, for even more ยฃยฃยฃ
You know is really shit about #academia?...ECRs paying ยฃ400 to present a 15-minute paper to less than 20 people in a small room because they think it will help them get their work out there & improve their career prospects.
