Tldr for developers.
NINO to people relationships are complex. Itโs many to many, nullable on either side. So:
One person can have many numbers
One number can reference many people
A person may not have one
A number may not be allocated
A number may be indeterminately allocated
@CarolGunney Your #GPdata will be #pseudonymised: a method used to temporarily obscure *some* obvious #identifiers like your #NHSnumber, full #postcode & #DateOfBirth.
Using such techniques is sometimes referred to as "#anonymisation", but they don't make your data #anonymous. Far from it...
@gardenrichard Erm. #Pseudonymised data is #PersonalData.
And in any case, @NHSDigital holds the pseudo keys, and feely admits it can convert the pseudonyms attached to each and every dated medical event it extracts from your GP record to show your #NHSnumber, full #postcode and #DateOfBirth:
@JIDeegan @NHSDigital ...to your #NHSnumber, any local #patientID, your full #postcode & #DateOfBirth or date of death - all of which is stated on @NHSDigital's website.
The data will not be "#anonymous" - it will be #pseudonymised, which simply means that those identifiers above will be replaced...
