Last week, the signing of the framework for the #NWTPFP marked a step forward in a partnership between 24 signers who are working together to create one of the largest #Indigenous-led #conservation efforts in the world–right here in the boreal. 👏 https://t.co/MdVxIMvxze
Minister @s_guilbeault reiterated Canada’s support for the initiative & the significance of the #NWTPFP model: “together we can show the world how to fight #climatechange & #biodiversity loss, strengthen our relationships & our economies, and build a better future for everyone.”

The #NWTPFP will contribute to Canada’s goal of conserving 30% of lands & water by 2030, support cultural revitalization AND create new jobs, leading to sustainable economic development for northern communities.
Leaders came together in Yellowknife to mark the milestone. The framework has 24 signatories! It is rare in any region to see such collaboration and engagement on a shared vision, but that is what we are witnessing in the #NWTPFP
