THIS is the #Ontology that #Mathematics was ALWAYS pointing to!
The local projection has been talking long enough!
For centuries, people thought -3 was nonsense.
Merchants, mathematicians, and bankers all refused to accept it.
And yet… negative numbers changed the world.

➖ Europe didn’t accept negative numbers until the 1600s — even though ancient Asian mathematicians had used them for 1,000+ years. 🌏

Here’s how it works:
Write the positive version in binary.
Flip all the bits (0 → 1, 1 → 0).
Add 1 to the result.

Multiplication is a short demonstration of summation. Multiplication of two numbers when both are not negative numbers is easy to be understandable by our brain. Let's take a look.

The @NCERT Grade VI books may be reevaluated to see IF #IntegrityOfTheConcept of #NegativeNumbers is compromised given the lack of discussion of multiplication & division involving them. By VI, 4 operations are necessary context for 360˚ concept appreciation & the ability to apply in real-life settings
@cbseindia29

The @NCERT New Grade VI book's ‘formulaic’ introduction of #NegativeNumbers, is NOT best for conceptual, application clarity. Book does simplify the idea, but, it’s too contextual; unrealistically leaving much on teachers; e.g., PIC shows ‘9 + (-6)’ but how do we see ‘9 – (-6)' in that frame? The next tweet further showcases the point.

EVERY SCHOOL SYSTEM, @NCERT too, must revisit (Grade VI) book for #NegativeNumbers; e.g., hardly explicit on the distinction between ‘– 3’ (subtraction over 3) & say, ‘-3’ (the negative number 3). Both go left on number line, but, for different reasons. This is critical for rightly capturing real contexts in math expressions

#NegativeNumbers were controversial even among mathematicians just 200 years ago; we invented them for scientific & business needs. We must 'teach' for that end. But, PIC shows how @NCERT New Grade VI book explains -3 is > -4; this can’t explain how ‘-3’ (loss) is > ‘-4’ (loss)
