.@OshiwaraPS Cyber Squad has uncovered an online fraud racket that lured victims with promises of doubling their money through share market and investment schemes. Four accused have been arrested.
Acting on a complaint where the victim was defrauded of ₹5,72,000/-. During the investigation, the bank account used for the crime was frozen through Cyber Helpline 1930 and the accused were traced and arrested from Dharavi, Thane Railway Station and Ghatkopar. It was found that the group operated by opening fake bank accounts in the names of different individuals and misusing their debit cards, cheque books, and user ID–passwords.
