Just like how indigenous restorative justice practices have been co-opted to ultimately feed more Blk defendants into harsher punishment scenarios when they "fail" at diversion. Where's the 'common justice' in that? As long as someone gets a non-profit salary, huh? #NetWidening

Two questions: 1. Why is this program being overseen by @CityAttorneyLA? 2. Why is wanting to "get sober" a prerequisite to getting support? #netWidening

I’m heartbroken, disgusted and uplifted all at the same time after spending this morning with LA Door. This little known operation by the @CityAttorneyLA meets homeless drug users wherever they are, showing up again and again until they are ready to get sober.

From a #StateOfDenial to a #StateOfAbuse of Power. The Coronavirus Bill will be used as a smoke and mirrors screen to, yet again, criminalise the most vulnerable in our society. #Juridification #NetWidening #GazeUp

Voicing my opposition in #theCanary We should be moving towards #PrisonAbolition not prison expansion @steve_tombs @dgscott2 'However, criminologist Sharon Hartles pointed out that people don’t commit criminal acts because they’re ‘unafraid’ of the law' https://t.co/i4rLJp5iFR

@SteveTransform @TransformDrugs Last time govt tried - with the DTTO - to divert drug using offenders from short prison sentences, imprisonment remained unchanged while demand on treatment increased #netwidening
