Had an awesome interview today with @SlickPen50 on Biblical inerrancy. I also have a two parter on @JGCrossley’s #nextquest for the historical Jesus and another round of Ludwig von Mises vs an (unnamed) Christian scholar who misreads capitalism. Next few weeks will be great!

Still working my way through the talks at the excellent #nextquest confence. @profjoantaylor's paper on "Material and Visual Culture" was excellent & I think the first to mention #BibleFilms. She points out how still today costumes etc are based on c.19th Palestine≠Jesus' world.
I'm still catching up on talks from #nextquest (for the historical Jesus). Great papers by @mbrandonmassey & @chriskeith7 on the blindspots that hampered earlier questing.
Taking some time to go over @HenningMeghan's paper from #NextQuest in a bit more detail. And it's an absolute banger.

Matt, while not in the Gospels, I wondered if Acts' references to baptism might also be examples (2:38, 8:36-38, 9:18), especially if Luke-Acts is one narrative?

Listening to Robert Myles at #NextQuest. He is taking a hard approach to class, unlike the soft 'class' terminology you sometimes get of 'retainers', 'middle class' etc. It's class defined in relation to the means of production, within a particular mode of production. Correct.

I'm now listening to some of the #NextQuest papers that were delivered in the wee hours of the morning here. And may I say, @seanfwinter, that was quite a conclusion (after some equally well made points on 'the elite' in historical Jesus studies):
