@ExcludedUK After receiving not even a penny of Covid support, the extra burden of the cost of living crisis is the final nail in the coffin for 350,000+ #ExcludedUK freelancers.

This is a welcome development - an estimated 3 million self-employed workers continue to fall through the gaps of Government #Covid19 support #excludedUk @ExcludedUK #NoCreativeLeftBehind #ForgottenFreelancers 👇
"Within six weeks of this report @HMRCgovuk should publish an explanation of why it can't help those freelancers and other groups that have been excluded from receiving any support, and set out steps it can take to overcome those obstacles" #Covid19

With the announcement of #lockdown3 @RishiSunak must provide support for the 3 million self-employed who have fallen through the gaps of #Covid19 support since last March.
We will continue to press the Government to right this injustice

Cabinet minister Michael Gove tells #BBCBreakfast the Chancellor will make announcement about additional financial support later today.

This important debate takes place later today. Thanks to those WGGB members who wrote to their MPs.
Government must support the 3-million self-employed who have fallen through the gaps of #Covid19 funding.

The list of MPs who are speaking in my debate tomorrow is out! Very much looking forward to making the case for those #excluded from Govt support through no fault of their own
There will be MPs who wanted to speak but did not make the list due to limited time slots

WGGB is a signatory to this letter and will continue to push the Government to provide support for those #ForgottenFreelancers who have fallen through the gaps of #Covid19 funding #NoCreativeLeftBehind #ExcludedUK
Good piece in the Guardian covering the letter to @Rishisunak from @bectu @ProspectUnion and other trade unions, business groups and those freelancers and self employed impacted by the gaps in Govt support @ExcludedUK https://t.co/kMVkNUZr8J
It is difficult to square @RishiSunak's pledge to protect people's jobs + health with his failure to plug the gaps in support for three million self-employed workers.

It is welcome news that the #SEISS will now be calculated at 80% for the next three months.
But 3 million self-employed continue to receive nothing + @RishiSunak must give them the support they need.
#ExcludedUK #ForgottenFreelancers #NoCreativeLeftBehind
We’re increasing the support for millions more workers through the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme.
The third grant covering November to January will now be calculated at 80% of average trading profits, up to a maximum of £7,500.

This is welcome news + what unions including WGGB have been calling for in recent days. @RishiSunak now needs to expand the #SEISS to support those #ForgottenFreelancers who have fallen through the gaps of #Covid19 support. #ExcludedUK #NoCreativeLeftBehind
🆕 The Minimum Income Floor suspension has been extended
The grants aren't available to all self-employed though are they, @RishiSunak? Care to comment about the 3million+ that you're still ignoring and leaving to struggle? Yet another blatant lie. @ExcludedUK #ExcludedPaye #ExcludedLtd #ForgottenFreelancers #NoCreativeLeftBehind
We're doubling self-employed grants from 20% to 40%, meaning the maximum grant will go up from £1,875 to £3,750.
Grants are available for all self-employed people (all tiers) who've stopped trading or have a significant fall in trade, with two further payments to come.

The increase in the #SEISS will be welcome news for many of our members but this does not go far enough to support the 3 million self-employed who continue to fall through the gaps.

And that's your best response @SteveBarclay? If your idea of 'covering this' is by failing over 3 million tax paying people, then yes, you've 'covered it'. Shame on you all. #ExcludedUK #ForgottenFreelancers #forgottenPAYE #ForgottenLtd #NoCreativeLeftBehind
Brilliant question from @UKLabour’s @AlexDaviesJones on the plight of those #excluded from Government support.
@SteveBarclay says “we’ve covered this” 😱
Tell that to the millions of people left struggling by this Government’s complete inaction. They’re not going away.
#Writers don't need to reskill or want to change career - they need meaningful support during #Covid19 when millions of self-employed workers continue to fall through the gaps of Government support #NoCreativeLeftBehind #ExcludedUK
WGGB welcomes this announcement today but believes it does not go far enough to protect the creative freelancers who power the sector. Read our statement in full: https://t.co/NiyuwJCM3z #NoCreativeLeftBehind #ExcludedUK
