@craig_burley @LauraBabcock Hamilton's elections usually have been a portal to hell, but this one 'feels' slightly tamer than the past. Maybe it's because nobody is making this a #yesLRT-vs-#noLRT election anymore.
#NoLRT
Hey @cityofhamilton did you know that riding the bus from downtown to Stoney Creek feels like you're in a Sherman tank driving over boulders? Well, until you get to Stoney Creek... Their roads are great.

@TheSpec @Mattatthespec The great people of Hamilton should vote out all these useless politicians #NoLRT
@JohnPaulDanko #noLRT is more
We don't hate buses and we should improve our transit system
We're not depressive about the fact we have to ride buses
Spending billions of dollars on project that is meant to make tiny minority of the city feel better about themselves is horrible
thanks poors
@JohnPaulDanko #noLRT certainly the LRT is looking backwards. It would have been a really cool idea 50 years ago. The world is moving to automatous vehicles. If we are going to borrow $3.4 billion, let's invest in the future.
@JohnPaulDanko How about investing in the suburbs? Since amalgamation suburban Hamiltonians have faced increased taxes, increased development yet no improvement in services or infrastructure investments. #NoLRT
@taykmr @C_Mulroney @fordnation @RAHBNews His next question was "Do we need this train?" (His previous opinion on LRT was as hard #noLRT as you can get). My answer: if this guy can sell his house for 2x it's current value, what does that tell you about the economic development potential of #yesLRT? Yes reality set in.
@Leafer_80 @C_Mulroney That is a great question every resident of #HamOnt whether #yesLRT or #noLRT should be asking @C_Mulroney and her "task force".
This isn't an argument in favour of #nolrt (pic notwithstanding) it's an argument for fighting austerity entrenched in privatized infrastructure and demanding more for #publictransit
@nicolemartintv @CHCHNews @Metrolinx @fordnation If @fordnation @C_Mulroney invest 1/4 of committed LRT budget to #HamOnt ($1B) "transportation projects" the additional $2.7B in committed lifecycle costs are lost & effectively downloaded to Hamilton taxpayers. #yesLRT or #noLRT:one quarter of a promise should not be acceptable!
