What do people want from public transport? Reliability and predictability.
Note to @TLRailUK

Hey @chilternrailway - how exactly does a 5-carriage train (to Aylesbury Vale) become a 2-carriage one?

Better bring the moneybags if you want to go from Durham to Milton Keynes

On less than busy @LNER service to Darlington.
No wonder when announcement says with passion "PLEASE make sure you have the right ticket - new fare to Newcastle is £180"

Here's a hill I'm willing to die on: our most dysfunctional train operator is @CrossCountryUK. This is today's 0858 Bristol to Mcr, a four car train of which one 1st class. Completely overwhelmed at Wolverhampton, and four more intermediate calls still to come 🤨🧵
Time, energy and knowledge - train travel should be simple, not an exercise in juggling websites

@natalieben End-to-end Anytime Single tickets are about the worst value rail tickets there are. Using https://t.co/oWme7c7OfA next time - it would probably have saved you about £40!
Starting out on virtually empty train from Sheffield to Stowmarket.
And is it any wonder? £90 for c170 miles. Slower than driving. Earliest possible arrival 11.15am

Hey @northernassist - need to change the sign.
Neither of your ticket machines at Manchester Piccadilly are taking payments.
Nice @AvantiWestCoast lady shrugs: "nothing I can do."

Another"you have got to be kidding" £100 train ticket. Without even a table on this leg.

@Carlybag @natalieben I’m going from Somerset to London tomorrow. Cheapest advance tickets I could get that get me to my meeting in time are £142.70. And that leaves a big gap in the afternoon when I can’t travel back.

On an almost empty @AvantiWestCoast peak Liverpool-London train - £170 for 350km.
Just looked it up - could buy a ticket Paris-Prague tomorrow - 1,000km - for £30 more.
Another record-breaking milestone @grantshapps
This is #NoWayToRunARailway - or a rail industry, which needs a strong home market.
When will the long-promised annual RNEP updates start please?

No "managed rail decline": £4 billion cuts in rail investment. £27 billion more for new roads. Wrong way round. #nowaytorunarailway

Hey @AndyBurnhamGM @grantshapps Trying to get Manchester to Glasgow. @TPExpressTrains all cancelled. Staff at MCR tell us we have permission to travel via Preston with @AvantiWestCoast. Guard just announced we don’t but ‘cos it’s Xmas... #nowaytorunarailway
So @VirginTrains have now delayed me 7 out of 7 trips. Now going to miss our @Eurostar connection. A refund does nothing to mitigate the frustration of travelling on UK railways. #nowaytorunarailway
Northern Rail bosses given huge bonuses even when train operator Arriva failed to meet its’ franchise commitments and then payed out a dividend of £47.5m to German parent company after £165m UK taxpayer bailout in May this year. #NoWayToRunARailway

Dear @EMTrains - thanks, not, for my 3.5 hour Sheffield-London journey. Part of Sheffield-Berlin. Will be by far the worst part, and most expensive per mile. #nowaytorunarailway
Running late, very late for an important meeting, not good enough @northernassist Beverley to Hull. #nowaytorunarailway
