As a proud Zionist and member of the Jewish community, I’m deeply troubled by the growing fear among Jews in Canada and worldwide that our country is no longer a safe haven. Antisemitism is on the rise, as highlighted by a disturbing incident at the Shoppers Drug Mart at Bloor and Spadina in Toronto. On April 21, 2025, a Jewish couple was allegedly asked to leave the store for wearing a Star of David and an Israel pendant, an incident brought to light by Vivid Prowess’s widely shared post on X. This event, occurring across from a Jewish community center, has left many in the Jewish community feeling targeted and unsafe. The Jewish community has long enriched Canada’s cultural and social fabric, and we must stand united against hatred and division.
I’m not here to dictate your vote, but I urge you to reflect on the impact of antisemitism on Canadian Jews. Let’s support policies that ensure Canada remains a safe and inclusive home for all. Remember the Jewish community—champion actions that protect and uplift every Canadian.
