Ah Valentines Day. A beautiful day of romance, chocolate, and one of the BLOODIEST massacres of #Jewish people in history.
During the first outbreak of Bubonic Plague, Christians falsely accused Jews of spreading the bacteria borne sickness by poisoning wells.
Of the 363 Jewish communities in Europe, 50% were attacked by bloodthirsty mobs who bought into this vicious blood libel.
Jews were massacred all across Europe, in Spain, Italy, France, the Low Countries, and the Germanic Lands.
In Cologne, Jews were locked into a synagogue which was then set on fire.
In Mainz, the ENTIRE Jewish community was murdered in just ONE DAY.
The Holy Roman Emperor decreed that the property of murdered Jews could be SEIZED by their Christian neighbors. With this financial incentive to kill Jews, the attacks only intensified.
But the most horrific attack of all occurred in Strasbourg, France.
On Friday February 13, 1349 a violent mob - backed by nobles who wanted to seize Jewish property - arrested the city’s Jews and gave them two choices: convert to Christianity or be slaughtered.
On Shabbat, February 14, 1349, they took 2,000 Jews and burned them alive on a giant pyre built overnight in the Jewish cemetery.
The murder took hours.
An assembled crowd cheered and reveled as the Jews - including children and babies - were SLOWLY burned alive.
Afterwards, eager townspeople swept through the ashes, not to search for survivors but to search for valuables.
Today, on February 14, 2024, nearly 700 years later, not much has changed.
On 10/7 a mob of Antisemitic #HamasRapists tore through #Israel to rape, slaughter and pillage while the international community cheered and reveled as Jews were slowly burned alive in their own homes.
#HamasTerrorists were glorified with posters of paragliders as women were brutally mass raped at a peace festival.
Gazan civilians tore through the ashes of Israeli homes to loot and kidnap injured survivors for a government sanctioned treasure of $10,000 and a house per hostage.
And 134 hostages remain in captivity, including a 1 year old baby, his 4 year old brother, and 15 women who are continuously being sexually assaulted and raped, while the world calls their abuse “Justified.”
