Calling Israel the 'Jewish State' is like saying 'Halal Pork' or 'Kosher Pork'. The entire idea of Zionism is contrary to the Jewish faith. Jewish Canadians support the exhibit. Jews are among the people who created it. We Canadian Jews have a responsibility to be sure the story of Israel's destruction of Palestinian life is told honestly and accurately. We Jews call this 'teshuvah', doing what we can to right a wrong we are responsible for. In this case, that wrong is the truth being suppressed for so long by powerful Zionists in Canada. Our Jewish spiritual tradition teaches us that we are all responsible for the sins of our community. So, we are involved in making sure the Nakba exhibit goes ahead. One of Jews who suppressed the truth about the Nakba was mega-wealthy Izzy Asper who created the CMHR by using his political influence to get well over $100 million in taxpayers money to launch it. @RachaelThomasAB, you are wrong to imply that "Canadian Jews" oppose the truth about Israel and Palestine. Some do, that is clear. Their racism is also blatantly clear.
