Dismantling of the autism prog. was built on roundtable that did NOT address concerns of parents.
The panel that followed was rigged for the answers @fordnation wanted.
Vulnerable kids and families paid the price, and will now rack up exponential costs for years.

The kids with ASD are NOT alright.
40,000 weren't at round tables in 2018/9.
45,000 weren't 2 years ago when it was dismantled in the name of "waitlists".
And now, just 600 may get to be part of a pilot program.

Thank you for pointing this out, Louis! As a parent I was deeply concerned when I saw position of care coordinator outlined in the new documents.
I would encourage all those in policy circles to thoroughly flush out the vague language within that role description. #OAPnotforME

I went from having NO fear at diagnosis, because full-time therapy was going to be covered, to NOW - trying to be an ABA professional myself.

It is shameful that mothers of children with #autism keep begging through tears for the Conservative government to listen to them. It was bad under the Liberals; and, itβs gotten worse under the Conservatives.
We have a "childhood budget".
We are NOT recieving services as prescribed.

$20K gets her 36% of the year, for HALF the hours she clinically needs.

Just because 11,499 kids have a checked box beside their name doesnβt mean 11,499 are IN SERVICE.
There is zero guarantee that families receiving CB cheques are able to access therapy.
