There could be also another extreme weather event that is set to happen in the next few days in #Taiwan. PAGASA, JMA and JTWC are all forecasting TY #Ofel (#Usagi) to make landfall in Taiwan as a tropical storm this weekend. Tropical cyclones that are landfalling in the said country during November is EXTREMELTY RARE. If the forecast verifies and based on the NOAA's archives, TY Usagi might be the first November landfalling storm in Taiwan since TY Gilda in 1967! ⚠️ 📷: PAGASA and JMA

In total, 85,415 families across Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol, and Cordillera Administrative Region have been affected by the series of typhoons, according to the NDRRMC's 8 a.m. situational report. Of those affected, 26,923 people have taken shelter in evacuation centers, while 19,572 people are sheltering elsewhere.

We did indeed revise our estimates. Unfortunately, #Usagi / #Ofel was likely already a severe typhoon (C3) as of that time, packing winds of 155 km/h and a mean sea level pressure (MSLP) of 975 hPa. Please prepare as soon as possible, and continue to be advised.
