Last few weeks I spent convincing LLM to write CAD for me (#build123d and #OpenSCAD alike). Needed a break. Over the weekend went full caveman mode. Installed Fusion for the first time and re-modeled the whole piece from scratch. It felt much more in touch with material and control, plus was easier to solve tasks like designing so no supports are needed. Very interesting change of perspective...

Inspired by the code to CAD works of @earthtojake and others, I decided to attack a different angle - rebuild the amazing retro look of JVC 3100R with #OpenSCAD & agents. Demanding proving ground so far. The shape is fussy enough that sloppy instructions show up immediately, not to mention the overall printability. Still in the making. And yeah, a retro project forced me to add retro rendering mode as well. More coming.

Recently published my second @Printables model: a magnetic bit holder for the @FanttikOfficial screwdriver on a #Gridfinity base. Whole part was designed in #OpenSCAD with agentic help. What I was missing while iterating on the design was a quick way to review the result as a 3D object instead of as code... So I built one - video 1:42, no sound. I can do section cuts through the model, quickly play (and apply) changes to the OpenSCAD parameters while ~15 derived measurements update live. The measure tool at the end to spot-check actual mm. The point is speed: how fast can I tell whether the part will physically work, and which parameter is worth tweaking.
