Yesterday, in a strong show of unity and a carnival-like atmosphere, I joined our esteemed party members under the aegis of the Saadudeen Salaudeen Vanguard (SSV), to welcome scores of PDP defectors from the Alawo-Kekere zone during their weekly meeting at my home base in Ibagun Ward, Ilorin East LGA. In my remarks, I reaffirmed that our great party, the APC, under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, remains united and focused on an issue-based campaign anchored on the administration’s impressive track record in road infrastructure and social investment programmes. I assured the new entrants of equal representation and urged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation and door-to-door engagement in support of our candidacy and all APC flagbearers—from the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to our APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, at the 2027 polls. It was heartwarming to see our people trouped out in large numbers to welcome us as I toured my home base from Amule to Sefura and Ode-Asude before concluding with a courtesy visit to our father, the Alangwa of Ibagun, Alhaji Sakariyau Ilufemiloye, where I received his royal blessings. I also spent quality time with the Iyaloja of Kankatu Market, Alhaja Taiye Baraje, and members of the Kankatu Okada Riders Joint Zone. AO

Today, I was honoured to formally flag off the first phase of the Olododo Table Tennis Championship 2026, a seven-day grassroots sporting tournament featuring teams from across 23 political wards in Ilorin East and Ilorin South Local Government Areas. Represented by Hon. Kamaldeen Aderibigbe, the table tennis championship is in furtherance of my commitment to promoting youth engagement, grassroots sports, social cohesion and talent discovery among young people across the federal constituency. I was particularly impressed by the massive turnout of young people and party faithful who came out in solidarity with the participating athletes. I sincerely appreciate my brother, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulmajeed Nuhu Podo, and my sister, the Honourable Member representing Ilorin South State Constituency, Hon. Mariam Yusuf Aladi, for their support and presence. Their presence added colour to the ceremony and further demonstrated our shared commitment to grassroots engagement, youth development and community participation through sports, in line with the people-centred agenda of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON. To all our young athletes, I salute your sportsmanship, passion and determination. Keep giving your best, and may the best team emerge victorious. AO
