Standard. See also Queen St in Cardiff where #OpCastor has been targeting harmless cyclists (incl. disabled ppl) for ages.
Cycling bans *never* stop ppl who cycle dangerously bcs they don't care about bans.
It just legitimises cops harassing ppl who aren't causing a problem.
Looks like @cardiffcouncil & @swpolice have been running #OpCastor again. Great to see stolen Ovos being recovered. But is enforcement of cycling ban still targeting disabled cyclists?
And is Cycling permitted before 10am ( if a cop doesn't see you 🤪)

Since July, #OpCastor has seen:
✅625 cyclists stopped
✅120 stolen OvoBikes seized
✅41 fixed penalty notices issued
✅15 Sec 59's issued to electric scooter riders
@cardiffcouncil @SWPCardiff Is #OpCastor still targeting disabled cyclists who use their bikes as mobility aids? Which is potentially in breach of EA2010?
Can you confirm that cyclists can use Queen St before 10:00am, as you have previously stated?

So, what do we know about @CardiffCouncil/@SWPolice's #OpCastor on Queen St?
1) It targets disabled ppl on adapted bikes (illegal?)
2) Bikes are permitted before 10am. Unless a copper sees one.
So you can deliver to a shop on a cargo bike. Unless the cops are about.
What a mess.

Yes. And yet @cardiffcouncil proclaims it is happy to actively exclude disabled users of specially adapted cycles from getting to the shops on Queen Street #OpCastor
Every so often, @cardiffcouncil tweets about #OpCastor. Which they confirmed in Jan is not only targeting disabled cyclists too, but also ones who use adapted bikes ⬇️.
Which is probably illegal.
Comment @DeAthCardiff? @SWPolice?

This isn't going to go away, @CardiffCouncil. You and @SWPolice keep publicising #OpCastor, but people are going to keep asking questions about these basic issues - with how the ban is being enforced, and about the ban itself.
@p_m_davies @closepassescdf @swpolice @SWPCardiff Hi Paul we engage with all cyclists using Queen Street as a cut through, on the latest operation 30+ cyclist were engaged with and only a small amount of the 30 were issued FPNs based on the information they provided at the time, some of whom had mobility issues. 1/2
