Efforts by members attached to #OperationProsper in their quest to fight the illegal distribution of drugs in local communities and to put the perpetrators behind bars, yielded positive results when they confiscated a large quantity of drugs.
On Monday, 15 June 2026, Delft SAPS members attached to Operation Prosper arrested a 39-year-old male for the possession of ecstasy tablets at a premises in Forestdale Villas, Brackenfell. A total of 786 ecstasy tablets and 29 white ecstasy tablets were confiscated and handed in as exhibits at Brackenfell SAPS.
In an unrelated matter, information was received of drugs being sold at a premises in Parksig Villas, Bellville. The information was followed up and on the same day at 17:00, a 29-year-old male was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs after he was found in possession of 13 sachets containing tik, 30 mandrax tablets, and R1230 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime. A multidisciplinary team comprising members of the #SAPS and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) conducted #OperationProsper aimed at combating #IllegalMining activities in the Carletonville area on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
During the operation, police arrested a 23-year-old suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The following items were recovered from the suspect, one 9mm Norinco pistol with no serial number, one magazine; and four rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The members arrested seven undocumented foreign nationals, aged between 22 and 40 years, for contravention of the Immigration Act.
Police also recovered illegal mining equipment that had been abandoned at a mining site. The recovered items include, phenduka, stamper, chisel,hammers, stamper pot and twenty-nine steel balls.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Carletonville Magistrate's Court soon.

The team conducted patrols in G-Hostel - The Kitchen in Thabong. The integrated forces found and demolished several self-made gold bearing material gravity separation tables. Four (4) males were arrested for the Contravention of Immigration Act. Case dockets were opened at Thabong Police Station.
Way-lay operation was conducted in St Helena 08 Old Shaft where three (3) foreign national males aged 30, 32 and 32 were found digging. Suspected gold bearing material weighing at 12.5 kilograms was seized. Gold processing equipment; garden spades (2), pick axe, self-made strainer, plastic bucket, and sieve were also confiscated by the team. Case dockets were opened at Welkom Police Station.
Twenty-seven (27) suspects; 20 males and 7 males, were arrested for Trespassing and Possession of housebreaking implements at Harmony Country Club. The team also recovered copper cable weighing at 17.10 kilograms. The copper cable was taken to Steyn 02 barracks. The #SAPS, in close collaboration with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), has recorded significant successes during the latest phase of #OperationProsper, spanning 4 to 10 June 2026. Joint operations targeted drug trafficking, illegal firearm possession, and other criminal activities across the Nelson Mandela Bay district.
During this operational period, law enforcement executed 14 search warrants, conducted 28 Section 22 searches, and carried out 17 vehicle searches. A total of five arrests were effected on charges including possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless and negligent driving, contravention of the Medicine Act, and illegal possession of ammunition.
Notable successes include the execution of a search warrant in Helenvale, where members recovered a Norinco pistol, ammunition, drugs, and scales. However, the community became rebellious, forcing officers to withdraw. An enquiry docket was subsequently opened. In a separate incident at the same address, a container with 575 Stilpane tablets was also found abandoned.
In Walmer Location, a female adult was arrested for common assault after pushing and slapping a female officer who had instructed her to go home during tavern compliance patrols. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
On 10 June 2026, a positive stop-and-search in Arcadia led to the recovery of a replica firearm, while a search warrant in Schauderville yielded Mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash.

During this paramount operation a total number of 26 suspects were apprehended for various offenses. A total of 19 illegal immigrants were arrested, three suspects arrested for being in possession of illicit drugs, three suspects were apprehended for illegal mining and one suspect for harbouring of an illegal immigrant.
Furthermore, 4 traffic fines were issued during this operation amounting to R4000.

During the search members found a 9mm pistol with ammunition hidden in the house. Two suspects, aged 21 and 23, were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In an unrelated intervention, members of #OperationLockdown3 conducted a search of a premises in Tiara Way, Leonsdale, Elsies River, where members found a consignment of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house.
A 41-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga.
Once charged, the suspects will make their appearances in the Blue Downs and Goodwood Magistratesβ Courts.

On Monday, 15 June 2026, Delft SAPS members attached to Operation Prosper arrested a 39-year-old male for the possession of ecstasy tablets at a premises in Forestdale Villas, Brackenfell. A total of 786 ecstasy tablets and 29 white ecstasy tablets were confiscated and handed in as exhibits at Brackenfell SAPS.
In an unrelated matter, information was received of drugs being sold at a premises in Parksig Villas, Bellville. The information was followed up and on the same day at 17:00, a 29-year-old male was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs after he was found in possession of 13 sachets containing tik, 30 mandrax tablets, and R1230 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime. A multidisciplinary team comprising members of the #SAPS and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) conducted #OperationProsper aimed at combating #IllegalMining activities in the Carletonville area on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
During the operation, police arrested a 23-year-old suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The following items were recovered from the suspect, one 9mm Norinco pistol with no serial number, one magazine; and four rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The members arrested seven undocumented foreign nationals, aged between 22 and 40 years, for contravention of the Immigration Act.
Police also recovered illegal mining equipment that had been abandoned at a mining site. The recovered items include, phenduka, stamper, chisel,hammers, stamper pot and twenty-nine steel balls.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Carletonville Magistrate's Court soon.

The suspects are currently being processed through the courts before being deported to their countries of origin by the Department of Home Affairs.
During operations held in the Bojanala District at Tlhatlhaganyane, near Sun City and Abuscheng, near Hartbeespoort Dam, the following items were found abandoned and seized: two generators, electrical cables, steel balls, chains, gold-bearing dust with an estimated value of R250 000.00, and a substantial quantity of liquor.

Way-lay operation was conducted in St Helena 08 Old Shaft where three (3) foreign national males aged 30, 32 and 32 were found digging. Suspected gold bearing material weighing at 12.5 kilograms was seized. Gold processing equipment; garden spades (2), pick axe, self-made strainer, plastic bucket, and sieve were also confiscated by the team. Case dockets were opened at Welkom Police Station.
Twenty-seven (27) suspects; 20 males and 7 males, were arrested for Trespassing and Possession of housebreaking implements at Harmony Country Club. The team also recovered copper cable weighing at 17.10 kilograms. The copper cable was taken to Steyn 02 barracks. On Thursday, 11/06, #OperationProsper was conducted in Orange Farms #SAPS policing precincts. Members of the SAPS and the SANDF gathered in Orange Farms to address criminality in the area.
During this paramount operation a total number of 26 suspects were apprehended for various offenses. A total of 19 illegal immigrants were arrested, three suspects arrested for being in possession of illicit drugs, three suspects were apprehended for illegal mining and one suspect for harbouring of an illegal immigrant.
Furthermore, 4 traffic fines were issued during this operation amounting to R4000.
This kind of an operation aims to reassure and reaffirm the commitment of the SAPS and the SANDF to addressing criminality and bringing stability in the area. #FightingCrime ST

On Thursday, 11/06, #OperationProsper was conducted in Orange Farms #SAPS policing precincts. Members of the SAPS and the SANDF gathered in Orange Farms to address criminality in the area.
During this paramount operation a total number of 26 suspects were apprehended for various offenses. A total of 19 illegal immigrants were arrested, three suspects arrested for being in possession of illicit drugs, three suspects were apprehended for illegal mining and one suspect for harbouring of an illegal immigrant.
Furthermore, 4 traffic fines were issued during this operation amounting to R4000.
This kind of an operation aims to reassure and reaffirm the commitment of the SAPS and the SANDF to addressing criminality and bringing stability in the area. #FightingCrime ST

Members of #OperationProsper followed up on information about firearms at a premises in Present Street, Wesbank, on 09/06. During the search members found a 9mm pistol with ammunition hidden in the house. Two suspects, aged 21 and 23, were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In an unrelated intervention, members of #OperationLockdown3 conducted a search of a premises in Tiara Way, Leonsdale, Elsies River, where members found a consignment of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house.
A 41-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga.
Once charged, the suspects will make their appearances in the Blue Downs and Goodwood Magistratesβ Courts.
