This is a major development for the Ordinals space as it will introduce a new sector of robust on-chain applications native to Bitcoin L1 by leveraging the technology offered by ICP. Specifically, ICP’s Chain Fusion enables Bitcoin L1 assets to be leveraged in applications that react to Ethereum Smart Contract Execution while avoiding the potential pitfalls of centralized custodianship. The Bitcoin assets under chain fusion instead are held within ICP smart contracts that can be triggered by the events corresponding to an associated EVM contract.
