This ‘Christmas rock’ is NOT an eclogite. It’s a piece of the mantle buried to 200 km (at 25mm/yr!) during orogenesis. Sample is from the Almklovdalen peridotite (Norway) and has #orthopyroxene, #clinopyroxene, and #garnet (and #microdiamonds)!
