The administrative work of getting permission to access data is a major barrier to our efforts to build better comparison groups. Having aggregated sources like PBTA reduces the number of times we have to apply. #PBTAchat

T1: We use gene expression to look for genes that a kid's tumor is addicted to. Gene expression is a relative measurement, so comparison is critical. Every additional tumor sample helps us identify potential treatment for individual kids. #PBTAchat

@MarciaJacobs13 With PBTA, researchers worldwide can access data on this relatively rare disease. Kudos to docs like @michelle_monje who participate in @CBTTC & make sure data for their patients gets shared. (Lots of docs at CBTTC hospitals that share, but not many on Twitter!) #PBTAchat
