Audit on cycling in the Perth area finds State entities have made improvements since 2015 but principal paths are still incomplete & a centralised crash & hazard tool is required. LGs have plans to encourage cycling but some are building paths narrower than better practice.

I took a ride along the recently completed safe active street in Nedlands today. Itโs a quite picturesque route, and not many vehicles - although it was 10am, so not sure what it would be like at other times.

The City of Vincent submits itโs bike route network plan to the State Government. A plan developed by the City staff and the Department of Transport - without any involvement or engagement of the community. A concerning and disappointing process IMHO.

But it must be said that the fact a key route of the Stateโs Principal Shared Path network was allowed to deteriorate into such a poor condition is unacceptable. Just like for roads, regular maintenance of the network should be mandatory. #perthcycling
