#policesay journalism can literally kill a person. smdh
I watched firefighters pull a woman from the harbor this morning. First police said she was dead and sent to the medical examiner’s office. An hour later police sent an update saying she had been resuscitated and was in a hospital https://t.co/M7PUADHzzT
I'm soooo very here for #OrganizersSay journalism!
(death to #policesay journalism)

BREAKING: Police are working to put out a fire from a possible explosion in Baltimore's Pigtown neighborhood, according to the Baltimore Fire Union. What we know: https://t.co/S9oIJDlwtw
Enough with the apologies on editorial pages for atrocious historical racist coverage @baltimoresun commit to end #PoliceSay journalism #BlackNewspapers #IndieNewspapers @baltbeat @BaltimoreBrew @afronews @BaltimoreBanner

The local newspaper of record routinely reports ONLY what #policesay when cops shoot and kill somebody. In this 1923 case, the Black man's body with a bullet in the back was great grandfather of @theebillyporter

#PoliceSay journalism Baltimore circa 1935
@Cre8tivKimestry @baltimoresun @BaltimoreBanner The Sun won't even allow public comment on its website. And the Banner has David Simon, so not very likely either will move away from #policesay journalism
The kissing cousin to #policesay journalism is not-authorized-to speak-to--the- press. Lemme explain-
Baltimore police is an illegitimate occupying force, but the Sun practices #policesay journalism when it's really propaganda peddling
What’s needed is new framing. Not party-oriented but democracy-oriented. Truth-oriented. The media shouldn't elevate liars in the interest of “fairness.” Yes, media should be fair – to the readers, to the facts. But not to the 2-party system. To our democracy. 8/9
@disnazzio @justin_fenton 1980s era #policesay journalism focuses on the charged man w/o nary a word on cop who used deadly force while under a fed CD to fix systemic racism: Incl training of officer, nmbr of BPD shootings, bkgd of cop, Use of force policy, advocates' concerns, BPD planting evidence hstry
@xoamelia Hoping I'll be surprised at @baltimoresun ultimate coverage of this sham or be dejected bc #policesay journalism inherent in unchecked white male bias will prevail.
#BaltimoreTwitter called the panhandler #hoax too, way b4 mainstream media pathetic #policesay "reporting"
Remember the awful homicide in Baltimore when a woman was killed while giving to a panhandler? It became a national story (even Oprah) about the risks of giving to beggars.
Well, it was a hoax. Cops have now charged the victim's widower and step-daughter. https://t.co/vZRVEIupeU
@justin_fenton Take all crimes reported by #BPD with a grain of salt esp unless and until we get a running tally of police misconduct complaints

#policesay journalism is PR, not journalism
@matttullis Same. I covered cops for summer as an intern and printed exactly what they said. And then later on as a veteran reporter, I did the same thing. In our business, you are taught the police are the official word. How wrong that is.
@justin_fenton Yallz editor allows a day old story to run without anyone's take other the the cops' ?

#PoliceSay journalism will be the death of me.
Man’s body found hanging from tree in Northwest Washington https://t.co/HLScJQr2qv
Hi I'm a community activist.
You might know me from my hit #FreeWestBaltimore. Or from "#PoliceSay shldnt be journos' only source." Also from the chart topping "BPD covered up #SeanSuiter murder" All with the same hook: #DisbandBPD
Police say they don't know how he died. I know that when the police come around, people mysteriously wind up DOA. #policesay #juicewlrd
@jewstein3000 @pwoodreporter @DMVDailyNews @OSilvermanA @LisaMcCray @BaltimoreBrew Hassan and I both have proven that our sources are solid. Yet, BPD repeatedly misled press on #SeanSuiter investigation.
TJ Smith said #HarlemParkLockdown was necessary to maintain crime scene's integrity and residents all willingly gave up their constitutional rights.
