@lucepeppiatt Even MORE radical? #ReadtheText #PreachtheText. Imagine an entire sermon without a sports analogy, personal story, or made-up illustration that everyone KNOWS never happened. Also get rid of sexist jokes, name-calling, and insults. All of THAT is taking the Lord's name in vain.

May I go into the pulpit tomorrow with a humble heart & one primary desire-Preach only the inspired Scripture of God. Anything more would be my own words and my words will always fall short. My prayer is for Jesus to be exalted and his Gospel proclaimed! #dowork #preachthetext

This is the essence of text-driven preaching. It is the over-arching theme @swbts School of Preaching. The text drives the substance, structure, and the spirit of the sermon. Every sermon we preach should be "the message that I tell you." #preachthetext #dowork #schoolofpreaching
