For Team Tae’ 615inest at the #PrimeTimeShowcase, this wasn’t just a win… this was a statement. A full-on display of dominance where every possession felt controlled, every run felt intentional, and every bucket carried weight. They didn’t just outplay the opposition… they overwhelmed them with a relentless attack that kept building and building, with no let-up.
At the center of it all was a three-headed monster that took over the game and never gave it back. #33 @Jeremydavis06(IG) was a force inside, owning the paint with power and purpose, finishing with 18pts, 11rebs, and 2blks while controlling everything around the rim on both ends. Every rebound felt like it belonged to him, every defensive stand ran through him.
#3 @ykykjalen brought the fire from the outside and the burst off the bounce, pouring in 20pts and keeping the defense on edge all game long. When the momentum needed a spark, he delivered it, attacking gaps and knocking down shots that kept the pressure piling up.
Then there was #20 @hudsavage20 (IG), doing all the dirty work and then some, finishing with 15pts and 9rebs while living in the paint and battling on every possession. He brought that edge, that toughness, that extra effort that doesn’t always show up in the box score but changes everything on the floor.
Together, they didn’t just lead… they took control and never let go. This was dominance from start to finish, and Team Tae’ 615inest made sure everybody in the gym felt it.
@NYBABasketball

We just witnessed the best game of Championship Sunday at the #PrimeTimeShowcase, and it lived all the way up to the moment. This 16U clash between AL Truth, a squad that hadn’t been touched all weekend, and Team United, a local powerhouse defending home turf, turned into a straight backyard brawl. No easy buckets, no backing down, just toughness, pride, and two teams refusing to give an inch.
From the opening tip, Team United came out with purpose, striking first and making it clear they came to end that streak. They played with edge, attacked with confidence, and built a 29-24 halftime lead behind physical play and timely shot making. But even then, you could feel it building. This wasn’t going to be decided easy.
The second half turned into a war. Every possession carried weight. Every stop felt like a statement. The intensity rose, the physicality picked up, and both sides kept answering each other like neither one was willing to fold. Runs were traded, momentum shifted, and the gym stayed on edge as the clock kept ticking down.
Then came the final minute, and everything went to another level. The lead flipped three different times in a matter of seconds. #15 @KeyyuPnext_ stepped up for Team United with a clutch bucket that looked like it might seal it, but AL Truth answered right back. #5 @Asa_Priolas refused to let it end, powering through contact for a gritty and-one that tied the game with under 30 seconds left, showing pure will and toughness.
But the final blow belonged to Team United. After a costly turnover, John Williams (@_johnwilliams28 )attacked the rim and finished through contact for a hard-earned 53-51 lead with just 1.6 seconds left. That was the dagger.
Team United was led by #15 @KeyyuPnext_ with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and a block, delivering when it mattered most. AL Truth got a monster performance from #5 @Asa_Priolas, who poured in 20 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and added a block and a steal, doing everything he could to will his team across the finish line.
This one had everything. Energy, toughness, clutch moments, and a finish that had the entire gym holding its breath. Championship Sunday at its absolute best.
@NYBABasketball

My next highlighted game of Championship Sunday at the #PrimeTimeShowcase turned into a straight family affair as Stars Gold (Williams) 17U squared off with Stars Gold (Hill) 17U in a high-octane clash that never let up. This one was a run-and-gun tempo lover’s dream from the jump. Up and down, back and forth, nonstop action where catching your breath simply wasn’t an option. Every possession felt like a fast break, every shot came quick, and both sides embraced the pace like they were built for it.
Early on, it was tight, neither squad giving an inch as buckets were traded and momentum kept swinging. But midway through the first half, the Williams squad started to separate just enough to gain control. They found a groove offensively, started stacking stops, and turned that into a 30-21 halftime edge that felt bigger than the number showed because of how they were building it.
Coming out of the half, Hill kept fighting, refusing to let the game slip away. They stayed within striking distance, answering runs and battling possession after possession. But every time it felt like they might flip the momentum, the Williams squad had an answer waiting.
That answer came in a big way through #4 Brayden Kennedy, who completely caught fire. He had a game-high 26 points and did it in every way possible. From deep, off the bounce, finishing through contact, it didn’t matter. His scoring was electric, his confidence never dipped, and his ability to stretch the floor and attack made him nearly impossible to contain. When his team needed a bucket, he delivered, and when the game tightened, he took over.
Behind that hot shooting and steady control, the Williams squad held firm down the stretch and took a hard-fought 61-50 win in a game that demanded energy, toughness, and execution.
On the other side, Hill was led by #50 @Logo53_, who battled all game long and finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and a block. He brought physicality inside, competed on the boards, and kept his team right there with his effort and presence.
This one had pace, shot-making, and intensity from start to finish. A true showcase of skill, toughness, and pride on Championship Sunday.
@NYBABasketball @StarsBballClub

My next highlighted game on Championship Sunday at the #PrimeTimeShowcase turns the spotlight straight to a pair of difference makers who set the tone with grit, production, and nonstop impact. AL Truth brought a physical edge into their matchup with Team Thad, and these two made sure that edge showed up on every possession.
#5 @A_Priolus delivered a strong all-around performance, finishing with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. He was active from the jump, attacking the boards, finding ways to score in traffic, and making plays on the defensive end that disrupted rhythm. His presence was steady and aggressive, the kind that keeps pressure on both sides of the ball. When things got tight, he stayed locked in and continued to produce, making sure his impact never dipped.
Right there with him, teammate #23 @CortezzHudson brought that same intensity and toughness, stuffing the stat sheet with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block. He was everywhere. Crashing the boards, jumping passing lanes, contesting shots, and doing the dirty work that fuels winning basketball. His energy never slowed down, and every hustle play added another layer to AL Truth’s control of the game.
Together, they created a one-two punch that made life difficult all game long. Physical, active, and relentless, they didn’t just play, they imposed their will. This was a performance built on effort, toughness, and making every possession count.
@NYBABasketball

My first highlighted game of Championship Sunday at the #PrimeTimeShowcase was an absolute barnburner to open the day, a clash between Stars Gold (Lynn) and Tae’ Flight Boyz 16U that had everything you could ask for and then some. From the jump, the Stars came out firing, trying to seize control early, but Tae’ Flight Boyz never flinched, never backed down, and matched them step for step. Every possession felt earned, every bucket came with resistance, and by halftime it was a tight 19-17 edge with the Stars barely holding on.
Then the second half came, and everything turned up. The intensity, the physicality, the urgency, it all exploded into a full-on war. This wasn’t just basketball anymore; this was pride, toughness, and willpower colliding on every trip down the floor. Shots were contested hard, and both teams kept answering each other like neither one was willing to blink first. Clutch shot after clutch shot kept the gym buzzing as the clock started winding down.
With 1:45 left, Tae’ Flight Boyz broke through and grabbed a 34-32 lead, putting pressure squarely on the Stars. But just when it looked like momentum was shifting, #8 @nicholas_Bandy stepped up in a massive moment. He attacked, drew contact, and calmly knocked down his free throws to flip it back 37-34 with 1:26 left, showing poise when everything was on the line.
But this game still had more drama to give. Tae’ Flight’s #8 got fouled on a three-point attempt, missed at the line, but refused to let the moment slip. The ball found its way back to him, and with everything riding on it, he rose up and hit a buzzer-beating triple to tie it at 37-37 and send the game into overtime. Pure chaos, pure energy, the kind of shot that shakes a gym.
In overtime, every second felt heavy. Every decision mattered. Every possession could decide it. And once again, it came down to the free-throw line. With just 1.1 seconds left, Bandy stepped up and knocked down the free throws that gave the Stars a 40-39 lead. No time left for anything else. Game over.
Stars Gold was led by Bandy with 13 points, delivering when it mattered most, while teammate #12 @doyle.chance added 11 points of his own. Tae’ Flight Boyz was paced by #5 Dt_Cuz10, who led all scorers with 14 points, with #7 @Lonstar.Devo adding 13 in a performance that deserved a different ending.
This one had everything. Heart, toughness, big-time shot making, and moments that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. A true Championship Sunday battle from start to finish.
@NYBABasketball

My final highlighted game of Day 1 of the #PrimeTimeShowcase was one last slugfest between Team United 17U and Team Thad 16U, and even though Team Thad was playing up, they stepped into this one with no fear in their chest and fire in their feet.
Team Thad threw the first haymaker with a fast start that immediately put the gym on notice. They came out flying around, attacking gaps, getting downhill, turning stops into chances, and setting the tone before Team United could fully settle in. That early punch helped them race out to a 32-21 lead, and from that point forward, Team Thad had their hands on the wheel.
But Team United didn’t go away quietly. In the second half, they started turning up the heat with a furious push, cutting into the lead possession by possession and making Team Thad earn every inch. The energy shifted, the pressure rose, and suddenly what looked like a comfortable lead was trimmed down to just 4 points late.
That’s when #32 @HollisterJ24 took over the moment.
With the game tightening and Team United trying to snatch momentum, he delivered the clutch baskets that settled everything down and swung control right back to Team Thad. Then came the final statement. In the closing seconds, he rose up and hammered home a thunderous, emphatic dunk that put the stamp on the win and sent Team Thad out of Day 1 with a grown-man finish.
@HollisterJ24 led all scorers with 14 points in the 54-41 win, bringing timely scoring, toughness, and the kind of late-game punch that separates winners. Team United was led by #4 @jalennnnnn(IG), who battled hard and finished with 13 points, helping fuel that second-half surge and keeping his squad within striking distance.
This was the perfect closing game for Day 1. A younger Team Thad squad playing up, embracing the smoke, taking the early punch they created, and then answering every run that came back at them. Team United made it a fight, but Team Thad had enough firepower, enough grit, and one final statement to slam the door shut.
@NYBABasketball

My next highlighted game at the #PrimeTimeShowcase delivered a fierce clash between Nashville Stars Gold 16U and the Ducks 16U, and from the opening tip, it was clear this one was going to be a dogfight. Every possession early had tension on it, with both sides trading blows like heavyweights feeling each other out. The Ducks came out swinging, matching energy and execution, but the Stars slowly started to find their groove. As the pace picked up and shots began to fall, the Stars edged ahead and carried that momentum into halftime with a 39-35 lead.
Coming out of the break, both teams tapped deeper into their offensive bag, and the intensity only climbed higher. Buckets were earned, bodies were hitting the floor, and neither side gave an inch. But this is where the Stars began to separate. With confidence building and execution tightening, they stretched the lead out to double digits, putting pressure on the Ducks to respond.
And respond they did.
The Ducks refused to fold, digging in with a suffocating defensive push that flipped the energy late. They forced turnovers, sped the game up, and clawed their way right back into striking distance in the closing moments. You could feel the tension building with every possession as they threatened to turn the entire game on its head.
But in the end, the Stars had just a little too much firepower to weather the storm. When it mattered most, they stayed composed, answered every push, and closed the door on a gritty 71-63 win.
Leading the charge was #0 @tripp.stennis0, who put on a show with 28 points and 8 rebounds, controlling the game with his scoring and presence when it mattered most. On the other side, #1 @1takeuno kept the Ducks alive with a strong 20-point performance, battling through adversity and fueling that late surge that nearly flipped the script.
This one had everything... intensity, momentum swings, resilience, and high-level shot making. A straight battle from start to finish.
@NYBABasketball @StarsBballClub

My next highlighted game of the #PrimeTimeShowcase was a straight heavyweight clash between Nashville Stars Gold 16U and Team Thad EYCL 16U… the kind of game where every possession feels like a collision and nothing comes easy.
From the opening tip, this one was intense, physical, and not for the faint of heart. Every cut got bumped, every drive met resistance, and every rebound was a fight. Baskets weren’t given… they were earned the hard way. Defense wasn’t just being played, it was being enforced with purpose and intent on every single trip. That edge carried through the entire first half, grinding both teams down into a tight 19-17 battle at the break.
Then the second half came and somehow it got even heavier.
The physicality didn’t fade, it multiplied. The pace picked up just enough to open small windows, but nothing came without contact. You could feel it in the gym as fans locked in, every whistle echoing, every bucket bringing a reaction. The tension built possession after possession as both teams kept answering, refusing to give in.
But down the stretch, Nashville Stars Gold found another gear.
They started to seize control with timely stops, strong finishes, and just enough separation to tilt the game their way. It was tough, gritty, and earned. And when the final stretch hit, they closed it out with authority, pulling away for a hard-fought 49-39 win.
They were led by #12 @chasescruggs12(IG), who brought steady production with 12 points and 6 rebounds, making plays when they mattered most. Teammate #23 @CannonMoss23 (IG) was all over the floor, adding 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals, impacting the game in multiple ways and bringing that edge on both ends.
Team Thad EYCL was paced by #5, who battled through the physicality to finish with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal in a tough outing.
This wasn’t about style… this was about toughness, will, and who could hold the line the longest. Nashville Stars Gold did just that, standing firm in the fire and taking control when it mattered most.
@NYBABasketball
@StarsNash_MBB

My second highlighted game of the #PrimeTimeShowcase is an intriguing matchup between Nashville Stars Gold 17U and AL Truth 17U… but this one didn’t stay intriguing for long.
AL Truth came out the gate with force and intent, setting the tone immediately and putting Nashville Stars on their heels. Everything was clicking early… good looks, strong finishes, and defensive pressure that made every possession tough. They built that edge possession by possession and carried it into the break with a commanding 28-18 halftime lead.
And whatever was said at halftime, it worked.
AL Truth came into the second half with a vengeance, turning the defensive intensity all the way up and blowing the game wide open. Passing lanes were getting jumped, shots were getting contested, and stops were turning into quick offense. What started as control turned into complete domination. The route was on, and AL Truth never let off the gas, cruising to a 55-34 win.
They were led by #15 @Gray_bennich, who set the tone with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and a block, making his impact felt on both ends. Teammate #3 Tahj Phillips added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, bringing energy and production that kept the pressure on. #32 @HaydenHyatton09 anchored things inside with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks, controlling the paint and shutting down second chances.
For Nashville Stars Gold, #25 Hank A. fought to keep his team in it, finishing with 14 points and 2 steals in a tough battle.
This one was about control, intensity, and a team that refused to let up for even a second. AL Truth didn’t just win… they took over and made a statement from start to finish.
@NYBABasketball

My first highlighted game of the #PrimeTimeShowcase was a straight war between TN Heat and RGT 2029, the kind of matchup that grabs you early and never lets go. From the opening tip, it was high-level across the board…shots falling, good defense, and crisp ball movement that kept both sides locked in. TN Heat struck first with rhythm and control, building a 28-22 lead by the half, but even then, you could feel it… this RGT squad wasn’t going anywhere. They were right there, applying pressure, making every possession count, and forcing TN Heat to earn every inch.
Then the second half came, and everything turned up. RGT came out with a different edge, cranking the defensive intensity all the way up and turning stops into momentum. What was once a controlled game became a full-on dog fight. Possession after possession, both teams trading blows, bodies hitting the floor, buckets answered right back. Midway through the half, RGT finally broke through and grabbed a slim lead, flipping the energy in the gym.
But TN Heat didn’t flinch. They kept swinging, kept answering, and refused to let it slip away easy. Down the stretch, it turned into pure chaos in the best way… ties, lead changes, big plays on both ends. Every trip felt heavy. Every shot mattered.
And when it came down to winning time, RGT stayed composed at the line and sealed the comeback, walking away with a hard-fought 54-49 win.
They were powered by #5 @DK5Star (IG), who took over offensively with 22 points, setting the tone and delivering when it mattered most. TN Heat had their own duo battling all night, with #4 @C30.corey (IG) putting up 11 points and 8 rebounds, while #33 CJ Patterson brought toughness across the board with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in a gritty effort.
This one had everything… intensity, resilience, and two teams that refused to back down for a second.
