Simplified explanation: Oral administration of Remdesivir would result in most of the dose being delivered to the liver and very little expected to reach the lungs, site of #COVID19 pathology. Liver specificity is seen with other phosphate #ProTides, e.g. #Sofosbuvir for HepC.
