A researcher chasing after the UFOs, a scientist who’s been kicked off a paranormal TV show, and behind the scenes, those who seek to exploit the UFO phenomenon to manipulate public unrest. The hairstyles, fashion, cars, buses, police vehicles, analog gear, cameras, interiors, electronic music, and TV shows — all the details of the era add a distinct flavor to the story. Rather than unfolding as classic sci-fi, the series plays out as a dark human drama, satirizing society and politics. Even the old-school sci-fi font used in the title feels nostalgic.
