@birthrightsorg @PaulineMHull @BirthTrauma @PregnantScrewed @catherineroyuk Good to see that the hard work so many of us have put in has partly paid off. Still shocked by the psych assessment element & justification of the decision. Will continue listening to Oxfordshire mums who’ve not been listened to by other channels. #ElectiveCaesarean #ProtectMRCS
@BirthTrauma @catherineroyuk Are the results of the survey available? I don’t understand how a mode of birth which results in such a tiny number of women experiencing trauma can be actively denied by some trusts e.g. @TeamOUHMat @OUHospitals John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. @PregnantScrewed #ProtectMRCS
@Florence0803 @KirstieMAllsopp @guardian Women should be able to choose CS without having to justify their decision. Wanting to protect pelvic floor is a very sound reason. Not wanting to experience sexual intercourse difficulties for life is another decent reason. #ProtectMRCS
@kiityc @DropTheR @HadleyFreeman @dollydhalay @JamesTitcombe Wow, hadn’t thought about it like that. When you state it that way I wonder what grounds @OUHospitals have for stopping maternal request C sections? What % of VB births go on to experience damage/incontinence/issues with sexual function etc? #ProtectMRCS
@CoraJ19 @Maddy_Liz @s_ettelt @HadleyFreeman @RUHBath I had a v similar experience at @OUHospitals- offered paracetamol after 19hrs in labour with only 75ml fluid an hour (no food!) & EMCS only when ‘stuck’ at 8cm. Despite asking for CS at outset- male obstetrician said VB would be best... #maternityscandal #ProtectMRCS
@EmmaJaneSas Absolutely- unimaginable and unnecessary stress on mother & baby. I worry for those mothers who don’t have the support, or energy, to go through that process- why are they being made to endure this torturous process? #ProtectMRCS
@EmmaJaneSas Do you know what has happened in these cases following this refusal? #ProtectMRCS
