Putin's yacht was towed across the Arctic Ocean to Sochi because of sanctions, an investigation showed. Putin managed to save his 82-meter yacht Graceful, worth $100 million from arrest in Germany. Since the vessel was not ready for delivery, it was towed to Sochi across the Arctic Ocean, having previously been well stocked with materials to continue repairs. This information was discovered by the investigative team of politician Aleksey Navalny. One of Putin's yachts, the $400 million Scheherazade, was arrested in Italy. But Graceful was towed to Kaliningrad from the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg a month before the invasion into Ukraine. A few months after the war began, the yacht Graceful was subject to US sanctions, but a complex system and infrastructure of assistants in Europe, Turkey, and Dubai were built to help in repairing it and circumventing US sanctions day-to-day. The design of the new superyacht was carried out by the Rubin Central Design Bureau of Marine Engineering, which developed strategic nuclear missile launch submarines. The yacht is equipped with a sea pool with protection from fish, sun beds, a sauna, an aqua disco (a dance floor that turns into a pool or a cinema), a movable billiard table that can be played even in a storm, a piano and so much more. As the authors of the investigation found out, the same FSS officers who were previously assigned to the yacht Scheherazade work on the vessel. Already during the war, 3 billion rubles (about $32 million) were spent on Putin's toy, including two billion (about $21 million) for repairs and another billion (about $11 million) for maintenance. And the money is still being spent.
