"Mitchell Tremblay, a disability advocate and host of The #Pwdcast. (He also appears in the Fault Linesdocumentary.)
He says he talks to people every day who feel coerced into applying for #MAID because it has become one of the only ways to escape #poverty, #homelessness, bad treatment from landlords, and the feeling that the government doesn’t care about them. “We want safeguards, proper #mentalhealth, #addiction, and #housing support,” says Tremblay. “So that MAID isn’t the better option for so many.”

He worked on the writing team for the ministry of Education, the Special education advisory board committee for the TVDSB and sits on the board of directors at L'Arche London. Currently he is working with Every Canadian Counts; advocating for a publicly funded, National Disability insurance plan for all Canadians with long term and chronic disabilities, regardless of age. 🚨 Mitch works SO HARD to research, record and distribute powerful, important content for the #pwd community, the #PWDCAST
His platform unites ppl. Producing it comes at great personal cost to him.
He does it because it is needed.
He is disabled and lives in poverty. $100/week would be life changing, $1000 a month transformational. Etransfer or Patreon.
He needs food now.
@KamalKheraLib are any grants available to sustain Mitch's work? #onpoli #cdnpoli
I hate asking but I need some help this month, almost every month now. Groceries have run out except rice, oatmeal and 1 kg of nuts and raisins. I miss meat and veggies and stuff. I miss balance.
[email protected] for etransfer, if you can help.
I'd love to make a big crockpot chili for the next few days as I wait for the climate incentive $$, some of which will be paying my wifi bill. It is a never ending battle just to keep energy.

Have you been:
Looking for something to listen to on the picket line (or anywhere)? You're in luck, The #Pwdcast host @ODSPoor has added a great bonus episode of his own #disability journey. Follow @ThePwdcast for more links and previous episodes. #mentalhealth #onpoli https://t.co/jD8rY3Vizz
This week's bonus episode is a solo story with @ODSPoor as he tells his life story of #institutionalization, #medications, #homelessness, #abuse and #invisible #illness. It's an emotional roller coaster that spans three decades. #onpoli #odsp #odspoverty #cdnpoli
This week I've crafted a very special bonus episode. #homelessness #homeless #abuse #depression #histrionic #borderline #anxiety #alcoholism #advocacy #life #invisibleillness #experience #MAiD #guelph #toronto #cdnpoli #onpoli #canpoli #Pwdcast #podcast https://t.co/SMxDcavgjI
I did more #disability advocacy and awareness on my week vacation than @MikeSchreiner does in a working month. This needs to change. It wears you down, exposes you to so many stories of suffering. Big things in the works. Also more #Pwdcast podcast episodes coming soon! #pwd
